Living the Vision

This fund was established in Fall 2020. As contributions are made to organizations, we will update this page with activity.

Final 2022 Donation

The Hoekelman Center for Health Beyond Medicine (part of the University of Rochester Department of Pediatrics) connects doctors with community partners to make neighborhoods healthier.

Through their G.O.A.L.S. effort, the Center is coordinating and distributing “Joy of Literacy Kits” and increasing and evaluating kindergarten readiness for children attending Rochester City School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten programs. The G.O.A.L.S. effort includes connecting library cards to new families with the Monroe County Library System and making the Dolly Parton Foundation Imagination Library available locally.

We are grateful for your continuous support of Purple Light Project. Your gifts help us advance our mission of poison prevention and enabling joy in children’s lives

Fund Donation Update

At the end of 2022, we were fortunate to make additional donations to the following organizations in Maisie's memory:

First Fund Donations!

In June 2021, we made our first donations to four organizations that serve our fund's vision:

These gifts are the first as we continue to grow and establish the Purple Light Project to make meaningful impact in Maisie's memory. Thank you all for your support.

In October 2020, we provided The Darcie Project with Strong Museum tickets for their annual remembrance walk. The Darcie Project supports families dealing with pregnancy and infant loss.

MaryBeth's running group, Run Free Rochester, hosted the 2nd annual Maisie's Miles at Cobb's Hill on October 17, 2020. Friends and family showed their support by wearing purple and getting miles in together. The event raised $850 for Purple Light Project!
