Why Purple Light Project?

Maisie's color became purple almost at birth. At the hospital where she was born, infant hats knitted by volunteers are brought to each family. The first hat, green, did not fit her little head. The second hat, was purple.

From there, small elements like blankets we received as gifts to clothes and toys had a purple theme. It was never planned. Purple found Maisie.

At her funeral, as the Priest helped us lay her to rest, sunlight hit the purple stained glass and illuminated her white casket.

There is immense pain, grief, and darkness in Maisie's death. As her parents we want to shine a light where we are able. That light will be purple. Hence, the Purple Light Project.
